Back and Neck Pain

Back and Neck Pain Treatment

Spinal pain is reported more prevalently in the lower back and neck than in the thoracic spine. Pain can present as an acute episode; a recurring acute episode, or as chronic and non-resolving.

There are, of course, a variety of problems which cause spinal dysfunction. Traumatic injury, damage to structures, muscular weakness or imbalance, and strain upon or compression of structures may precipitate pain. Any number structures within the spine, including the intervertebral joints, discs, ligaments, muscles and neural tissue are capable of generating pain.  The physiotherapist assesses each individual in order to establish the nature of the problem and to determine the cause of the problem. Treatment is then tailored to obtain the most effective recovery.

Body Logic Physiotherapy places significant emphasis on educating patients about their back pain or neck pain, and on preventing future recurring episodes.
